The Point Grey Wellness Clinic, situated on the picturesque West 10th Ave in Vancouver, British Columbia, was established in 2008 with a vision of integrity, integration, and excellence. The 1000sqft facility is divided into a reception area, an IV lounge, a treatment room, and a consultation office. The clinic is serviced by two naturopathic doctors, a chiropractor, and a registered massage therapist. Point Grey Wellness offers the full spectrum of naturopathic services, and has successfully integrated itself with conventional healthcare providers in the surrounding community.

Director Dr Irene Karatzas, ND, has been successful in establishing ties with a wide array of local physicians. The clinic routinely receives referrals from nearby oncologists, endocrinologists, psychologists, and general practitioners. These physicians take advantage of the many value added services offered by the clinic, including a well- developed armament of IV and injection therapies (vitamin C, Meyer’s cocktail, glutathione, chelation with EDTA and DMPS, amino acids, and prolotherapy), as well as a broad selection of complementary diagnostic tests (salivary hormone profiles, fertility hormone panels, IgG/IgA/IgE food allergy testing, urinary organic acids, complete stool analysis, omega-3 fatty acids, provocative heavy metal challenge, lyme disease testing, and comprehensive micronutrient status evaluation).

The clinic also offers bowen therapy, and houses an infrared sauna. A well- stocked dispensary carries offerings from over 20 natural health products companies, with Dr Karatzas describing NFH, Douglas Laboratories, and Metagenics as comprising the most relied upon brands dispensed from the facility. The dispensary also stocks a selection of bulk botanical tinctures custom compounded for individual patient prescriptions. The clinic sees approximately 40-50 patients per week.

Point Grey Wellness is an eclectic, primary care practice treating a broad array of patient concerns. The clinic however has gained a reputation in certain areas of patient care, notably cancer, depression, pediatrics, metabolic syndrome, and flu prevention/ treatment. Dr Melanie Mclean, ND, brings with her an area of special interest in fertility management, as well as in pre and post natal care. The existing reputation of the facility has seen a quick response to the offering of services in the field, and fertility concerns have quickly become a common presenting concern of new patients.
